Man Utd Players Return To Training

Smith would be my first choice when he's in the team. He'd give some players a kick up the backside during games, whereas Rooney would lead by example. A bit the way Giggs tries to. I wouldn't ever consider Rio as a captain, Keane didn't either whenever he was substituted during a game. We need a fighting captain, not Gary Neville.

I pretty much agree with that. Ruud has been a bit quiet imo when he's had the armband in the past.

How do you think Heinze would take to the captaincy?

Tis also a bit shocking that I heard on five live yesterday that if we win our remaining games or even draw a few as well, we'll end up in the 90+ point region, which during any other year since the Premiership began would have meant winning the league.

Even if MU won every single game (no draws), they would only acheive 90pts. That would be 5pts less than the winner in 2005, and equal with the winner in 2004 (with MU having an inferior goal difference unless they improve their gd:game ratio).

So basically what you heard was a load of rubbish :)

Well it was five live..... :p ;)

I really should have worked it out for myself.

@ Icebus, Heinze would also make good Captain material. :) He's by far our best defender. We've really missed him this season.

Tough game to bring him back.
I hope he can withstand the constant attacking threats from the opposition , it may not offer him much chance to get forward.

Thanks for that! I've got a monitor covered in tea now! :D

It'll be brilliant to see him on the field again. He's a legend amongst the fans.

fingers crossed-

Heinze is a terrific left back - all action - never shirks a tackel etc.

Gary neville is still the best at right back.

Liking the look of vidic also - getting better by the game - no nonsense defender. Ferdinand is also looking solid again - cutting out the silly mistakes

Feel a bit sorry for Wes Brown -top defender but always seems to get bumped down the order a bit when a new player is bought.

Good strong defensive unit however for next season!

Can see Evra getting a run out on the left of midfield maybe against Sunderland. He's backup for Heinze next season really.

SAF has Diarra as number one target. Real were interested but chave backed off more recently as word suggests now that Diarra has told SAF that he will come if he can agree fee with Lyon. By no coincidence SAF was in France last night and Gill could be off there next week.

Where Silvestre fits in is that they want him and cash, or Saha and slightly less cash or even both and a small amount of cash.

So Evra long term is backup for Heinze and maybe a squad player for LW too.

Diarra's agent have given Real just a few days to sort out with Lyon.
If his agent does the same for ManU, then they wont get him.
ManU allways seem to dilly dally over transfers. :p
