Man Utd Players Return To Training

The price for any player we are after has always gone up. I don't rate him as a £24million player, but if he's the player we need, we're going to have to pay it. Ferguson is or was in France this week with David Gill. So this talk of Madrid may be a reason to up the price again.

15-18m plus silvestre is more like the fee.

The Mikel Obi case is with FIFA and every1 knows it will only go uniteds way unless something changes so united are getting ready to say chelsea can buy him off us if they want him so badly. £10m+ over 4 years so not for peanuts and pays for a lot of any fee for Diarra. If they change their mind and dont want him then we'll get him too.

I personally cannot wait until this Obi Mikel case is settled. I'm sick of hearing about him. He doesn't want to play for us anymore and I don't think the fans or even some of the players would take to him that well in the unlikely case he's told he has to play for us. Chelsea are going to get severely punished me thinks.

we've done all we can really. The thing the club will do though is demand a good few quid off Chelsea to have him. Just cant see FIFA giving out any sanctions as they dont have the bottle.

Diarra does seem to be main target now though with some personal terms verbally agreed with him. SAF was reluctant to let Saha go as any part of deal but him getting injured again might sway things a little. Might force him into keeping Ruud for another year. It was on the cards for him to go maybe to Milan and that huntelaar of Ajax to replace him. Hopefully some kind of deal with Silvester + cash can be sorted out before we screw things up.

I wouldnt be that bothered to see Saha go

I would rather have Ruud/RooneySmith/Rossi in there and get Diarra

Like 6th says he just dosent inspire confidence Saha :(

nah i'd rather have Saha myself. not a coincidence we've been playing the best football of the season with him in the team. Watch rudds movement and passing now. He gets the ball and holds it up, even if we're on a fast break he stops play, Saha keeps play moving forward with speed a lot better which is why hes been picked. His runs behind suits rooney and ronaldo far more. Ruuds play suits more a build up and wait for a cross which he had with beckham in the side. Just think our attacking play is far more slick and decisive with Saha playing even if he doesnt finish as well as Ruud.

Added onto that hes getting on a bit and market value going down and he isnt particulaly happy at the moment I'd rather have Saha and a young replacement for him.

I'd keep both tbh, no reason we should get rid of either. Saha as backup and rotation, and Ruud as first choice. Its no coincidence Ruud was the Premiership top scorer, he's still lethal in front of goal.

Milan dont need Diarra. Gatusso, Vogal & Ambrosini all do Diarras role well, and better imo.
He'd be better off at United rarther than any other club really. He'd definatelly get played at United, and that would benefit both him & the team.

##EDIT##
And why does everyones post count have minus signs infront of them?

For top class team, i think UTd need to keep all three strikers happy. You need three good strikers if not four in the premiership to play well - week in week out.

2 good central midfielders are need by united. Very happy with Van der sar - good season from him and things really have settled at the back. Even with potentiallyu scholes returning at the start of next season, i think he is by his best days now. Need some creative juices in midfield.

Ballack to chelsea! As if they need another midfield player!

Got a bad feeling that Ruud will be offski in the summer to fund the Diarra deal. :( I really hope not but i can see if happening.

I was talking about Ruud to Milan rather than Diarra although they wer in touch a while ago. It was expected that Van Basten who would be in charge of Milan would want to buy Ruud and united have lined up Huntelaar as a replacement for him. Dont know if that will still happen at all. Huntelaar's agent is now talking to Liverpool.

Appears Saha's injury is not bad at all and reports he could be on bench tonight or for Mondays game which is good news.

Not overly happy spending so much on an unknown quantity (Diarra). DJ x2 was supposed to be good and he cost a couple of million. Where is he now? Essien hasnt exactly set the Premiership alight with his ability.
Obi M if he sorted his head out could be worth waiting for. At least he would get a game for us.

Ruud wont go AC. Maybe Inter.
He wouldnt be guaranteed a starting place at AC. Too much competition for places. Where as at Inter, they'll need someone to place Adriano.
United could do with keeping Saha though. He's a good player. The more he plays, the sharper he'll become.
