hi, just wondering are there any games like football manager, for other things? i remember back in the day on my Pentium 1 pc there was an F1 manager, do they still do such a thing? or any other UK sports (dont know enough about american football, baseball, basket ball etc)?

There are quite a few online F1 style management games you could look at if that was something you were after. I tried this one which is ok.

Rollercoaster tycoon, Zoo tycoon were good too :) spent many an hour playing them and often still go back to Rollercoaster tycoon 3 (although most of the attraction is building my own park and coasters rather than management).

I really wish they would make a new F1 manager game as I missed the last one from 99/2000 era :(

I liked Theme Park back in the day. And the Rollercoaster Tycoon games were a slightly more modern twist on the same idea :)

Theme Park World was somehow more enjoyable for me. Rollercoaster Tycoon series is great, Industry Giant was fun, Transport Tycoon was great, Zoo Tycoon is awesome, SimCity 4 is brilliant, there are hundreds of tycoons, Car Tycoon, Hotel Tycoon, Airport Tycoon, Restaurant Tycoon, etc.

Wildlife Park 3 looks... wow. I might have to get this!

If you prefer something like Football Manager then there are several managers from EA as well.

RTL released one in 2009 but it was rubbish, i remember "TVSPORTS BOXING" that was bloody epic, someone should make a new one with online leagues and stuff but a proper game not some web based rubbish

cinemaware made so many awesome games back in the day

The "Capitalism" games are available at GOG.com for a great blast from the past.

Capitalism Plus is a fantastic game, just about to suggest it myself!

Aside from that, Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 and OpenTTD (an open source Transport Tycoon Deluxe remake) are more worthy of praise than can ever really be handed to them.

If you're looking into the Tycoon series, I've got a soft spot for Prison Tycoon.

was looking at more of a sports management game really. i loved the F1 manager game (cant remember which it was now) so a shame they havent continued the series, especially seeing how popular F1 is.
a boxing/wrestling manager would be awesome too.
had theme park when it first came out but it wasnt really for me. i prefer the FM style games rather than building things.

Wasn't it eastside hockey manager or something the si guys had a hand in.

There's a number of commerical stateside games that run, out of the park baseball ect..

The mod scene is fairly active on the stat crunchers, i know that up untill a couple of years ago the guys that do grandprix world (ea's f1 man) sequel were updating.

Id imagine that google search would do so damage if you were looking for a steady eddie manager, there's a carp ton of homebrewers out there.
