As many of you know Miss K and I both have a 360, since moving back into the house we have decided to share the consoles, one downstairs and one upstairs. We will swap HDDs around as per necessary.

The question I have is regarding DL content and profiles.

I noticed on Halo last night whilst playing with my profile on her console my appearance and call sign went back to the default settings and I was unable to change them.

Are there any other gotchas and are there any workarounds?

I had no problems having two 360's, sure one was here and my other in Canada but I'm sure that I had no issues with dlc. I re-downloaded all that I had and as long as I was signed in on wingzero124 it was all good. I have read that it shouldn't do that on dlc but I've had no problems.

DLC should be available on any Xbox that the account it's tied to is signed into Xbox Live.

If the account isn't signed into Live, then the DLC will only be available on the box that the DLC is tied to.

You can change the console that DLC is tied to once per year (per account) using the Content licence transfer tool on the xbox website. :)

Regarding the Halo appearance I'm unsure. I've not had problems transferring my account to other peoples Xboxs with a Memory Unit and keeping my gear. I was under the impression that the information on your gear, name and emblem was obtained from the Bungie servers along with your rank.

RE the DLC, Of particular importance on the DLC is things like map packs.

I want to be able to ensure that regardless of the combination of console, HDD or gamertag I can play the maps without having to either re-download them or swap consoles.

Don't think that's possible, I'm afraid. :( If that were the case I'm sure you'd just see people downloading the content and passing it onto friends.

Your best bet as far as I know would be to download the content on the xbox that the profile is less likely to be on (Tieing the DLC to the console), and then to download it again on the other console that would usually have the profile (and be able to access it provided you were signed in to XBL).

I think that would allow you to have it on both consoles at once, most of the time.
