Managing HP server

Hi,

Really quick question I hope. Im looking for a way for the iLo/Server to report issues to the OS? (i.e Disk Failure.)

So what im trying to do is when the iLo reports something, software in the OS pushes this on to our syslog server.

HP provide SNMP agents, would traps etc be sufficient, or does it have to be through the iLO?

You can always log in via iLO and query the hardware with the hptools ...

Not sure off hand if it does Syslog, but it sounds like you probably want Systems Insight Manager:

Weve looked into this and im now finding some time to create a test rig. However this has opened a whole can of worms so we may move all the monitoring to Spiceworks.

If its a HP build with HP software use the Management Homepage and set the alerts in there
