Mandarin Speakers - need your help!

Hi there all

I am a Sport Science lecturer and I am going to Beijing on Wednesday to set up a student transfer scheme. As part of the trip I will be teaching 2 sessions to chinese students. I am in the process of putting my sessions together and wish to provide dual language slides. I've found a website that will translate phrases and words but was wondering if anyone can tell me the best to translate into.....i.e. Chinese (traditional) or Chinese (simplified)?

Any idea what the younger generation of chinese kids in the capital (16-20) will understand best?

I'm also looking for someone with a good knowledge of mandarin to give my slides a once over to ensure that they are correct? There would be a good bottle of wine in it ':O)

thanks....can you give me a quick bit of advice? When I type in an english word I get multiple options in chinese i.e. Welcome gives.....

(动) 欢迎, 接待

Can I use one of the single characters in brackets or just choose one of the multiple characters?

google translate is the best site to use, i think it translates full phrases rather than just word for word so it gets grammar correct#

and as said afew posts up the (simplified) version is the right one for that area :)

Use this: 欢迎
 
No, singapore & china = Simplified

HK & Taiwan = Traditional.

So china uses simplified chinese.
 
My girlfriend is chinese and would most likely be happy to have a look over your slides... Unfortunately she doesnt drink wine, luckily I do :) ! Email in trust

That should make things a lot easier to understand. Insert onto slide as necessary.
 
Unfortunately no I don't ':O) but I have a translator and my sessions are very interactive so a lot of the communication will be visual.

Just finished my first lecture so will e-mail soons ':O)
