Mandrill alternative

As you probably know mandrill are moving to being a paid service. I am looking for an alternative where I can make post request using Ajax as this is what I had with Mandrill .

Mailgun has quite a generous 10000 free emails per month. Their free tier servers are okay but sometimes have slow delivery compared to their paid packages. You could also take a look at Amazon SNS
