Anyone else suffering more than they would normally when then have Manflu? Just managed to get myself out of bed for the first time in over two and a half days. Gf’s daughter struggled with it for over a weeek although she had an ear and an eye infection to boot.

Ok, I’ll no spring chicken anymore but I don’t think Covid made me feel as bad as I have these last few days.

Had a cold the last week. Not that bad and been out and about the whole time, just feeling fatigued and groggy.

Certainly not as bad as last respiratory virus I had which laid me up with a fever for days and took months to clear my chest.

There is something covid-like spreading around. Loads of people I know have been ill with the same symptoms. Throwing up, fever, then secondary infections. I had it about a month ago, started with being sick and I had to have 2 lots of antibiotics to clear infections.

So it was bacterial then because you don't use antibiotics on viruses?

Depends. You can get a bacterial infection following a viral one due to a weakened immune system.

Thats how people start off with a cold and get a sinus or chest infection.

True enough.

I generally live a life of feeling less/more crap than the day before on a rollercoaster of buggy joy and have given up trying to fathom exactly what is going on beyond cursory guesswork :)

I had a 104F fever for thee days straight in January. I was in a pretty bad way. It ****** me off cause everyone just said - ha, man flu, gay! But I felt like I was dying.

Just got off 14 days of having the worst cold/flu/something I've ever had. Headaches, fever, coughing etc. My wife is coming to the end of what she has, and half way through coughed so hard she bruised something, so is struggling to breathe properly or cough. Can't take ibuprofen due to asthma in the past, so co-codamol it is but it's not making any difference. 111 just say rest and it'll eventually get better...
