Looking for a new tripod, as my cheap ebay jobbie is useless, as expected. Does anyone have any experience with this tripod or can recommend something around this price point, I thought it must be ok as it was originally £100 and still sells close to that, but Jessops currently has it reduced in the sale to £49.99.

What are your thoughts, amateur photography used for static car photography and filming on occasion when I need a pan shot or something steady.

While that may be true the three section 190 is much longer when closed, so at the very least he should be looking for a 4 section version.

Unfortunately there isn't much choice in cheap, small, stable tripods, even though they should be fairly easy to make (assuming you don't need one that goes to head height).

That said OP depending on what you want a gorilla pod may suit better than the one in the OP.

EDIT: Just saw the car shots, so presumably you want height and aren't too bothered with closed size (usually transported in a car for instance), so maybe the 190 would be better than a gorilla pod.
