Lovely Wolver-ampton!
The missus somehow managed to get the wipers on my Vento mashed together. I have no idea how... Needless to say, in seperating them she managed to bend the actual wiper arms so the passenger side is offset so it doesnt wipe in sequence with the driver side... And the driver side is bent so it doesn't cleanly wipe the screen.

She didn't actually tell me this until I went out in the rain today and they didnt clear the screen.

Have seen lots of people talking about aero blades, so I'll get some of those. Anyone any idea how much Vento / MK3 Golf replacement wipers and arms would be? Is it merely a case of un-bolting the old ones, slapping the new ones on and tightening the bolt?

Aero blade is for drivers side as standard, and its basically a case of popping the cap off the arm, undoing the nut (think its 13mm), and then putting your new ones on. Put the wipers on in the cranked position, or they will never go over the stub. Then set them up - you may have to adjust each arm on the spline. :)

Washed it? It was the first time she's driven it!!! (Did I mention the scrape on the front drivers corner where she hit something white, and scraped the bumper and the bodywork?)

Plus, she wouldn't open the bonnet. She knows where the shopping goes ;)

I don't know how they stuck but it's happened to me before, but I managed to seperate them without damaging them. The drivers side sort of went through the blade and arm of the passenger side, so when it returns from full stroke, they wedge in even more making it uber hard to release them (especially if you leave your wipers on when trying to undo them).

I think whilst trying to undo them (with them still trying to wipe) the nut on the passenger side must have loosened, which has altered the angle which they wipe, so any use means they mangle. It's only happened once to me in 10 months or so, but it happened to her on her first outing. Bad luck eh?
