Manhunt 2 banned again

Played the game and thought it was crap
However this banning thing is useless it gets the game more publicity and sells more copies.

Really don't know why people want things like this banning don't they have the power just not to play the game and if people start saying what about the kids? the kids will definetly come across this type of thing sooner or later.

I just hope they don't start this rubbish when the new Grand theft auto comes out.

who said im telling you what to play and what not its just what i would do:confused::rolleyes:

In hoping the game gets banned that means your hoping people cant play it. After all if you don't like it and it wasn't banned, no one is going to force you to play it.

Maybe Anonymous will sort out all this crap games get after they finish with Scientology lol.

I personally don't want it banned. I wouldn't play it because I found the first one a bit repetitive.

Errr... no it doesn't. Banning a game means no shops can sell it. Therefore people will have to import it. Which takes effort. Therefore less people will buy it.

For your children's sake, I hope they don't ban it.

Did you know that paper and books spontaneously combust at a temperature of 451 degrees Fahrenheit?

I've never played a Manhunt, don't know much about them really, surely its no more violent than a movie, a Saw movie for example?
Y'know what... I've never played one either.

I think BeachBOYken was right in so much that the BBFC took objection to the fact that there's some form of involvement in the crimes, as opposed to be a passive viewer of someone else commiting such crimes.

And ofcourse when its unbanned (which it always is) sales rise due the publicity the game has received.
When I was working at a college it was suprising how many times I heard wow that game got banned?! it must be good.

I think we should just allow all movies and games to be released without any cuts or censorship. Banning a game because a kid might play it is completely stupid and selfish we should just let games and movies be released the way they are. If it's 18+ then that's upto the parents to decide and thier responsiblity.

Also Manhunt 2 IMO is a really good game, I played the second and it's one of the most exciting, adrenaline filled games I've played. You'd have a plastic bag or some weapon and you'd sneak up to someone from behind and hold square (I think - PSP) and the longer you hold it the more brutal the death will be, the game creates quite a nice realistic sick feel, you might even squeal like a little girl when someone spots you and you try and run away, anyway that's just my opinion.

Pretty sure Manhunt 2 has never been on sale in the UK. I could be wrong but I thought the banning (not issued a classification) was issued before release date, Rockstar appealed but then it got banned (current OP).

EDIT: Dont look too deeply into what I have typed here. I know that its not banned. The point I was making is that if it never has and will not be sold in the UK that wont help sales. Because there wont be any.

Kind of agree and kind of don't, where would you draw the line, Child Abuse? Graphic Rape?

Realistically there needs to be some form of censorship or you would get all kind of sicko's releasing all kinds of stuff, and it would be hard to determine if something that you thought was suitable for viewing really actually was.

Providing the movie was legal and not some homemade, handycam snuff film some nutcase shot in his basement I see little limits. If the movie was staged and not real then I think it's okay.

I've seen since I was a child quite a few movies with rape and abuse towards women the likes of Last House on The Left, House on the Edge of the Park and I Spit on Your Grave (uncut, you see what I mean) and they really wern't that bad, I never felt like raping anyone and I wasn't really aroused by it (okay I lied, maybe a little). Even movies with real animal snuff I've seen (Nekromantik, Cannibal Holocaust, etc) I don't see to be that bad as programs today show real animal slaughter (kill it, cook it, eat it) so I don't see why sooo many people were ****ed at Ruggero Deodato for making Cannibal Holocaust as it's not really that much different, the main difference I see is that one is mainstream and the other isn't.

I just think people should seperate reality from fantisy. I've always watched movies uncut, as I'd like to see everything. I suppose one persons opinion on what's sick is different from someone else.

I've mentioned it before, but I'll mention it again.

Gears of War was banned in Germany.

How would you feel about that, if it was banned in the UK?

Many have seen it.

Is it too violent?

Don't come back with any "but that's different" because it isn't.
What if the BBFC thought, hang on, that is a bit violent actually, and banned it here too? We'd all be right PO'd about it, and rightly so.

Same deal with Manhunt II.
If you don't like it, then FFS, don't buy it!

It really narks the hell out of me when people say things like "I think it's sick, it should be banned"

In your opinion it's sick. Don't try to judge what other people can handle.

I personally have no intention of getting Manhunt II, even though I did enjoy, and play to completion the first one. It never struck me as being sick... in fact, while I was playing it, I remember enjoying it, thinking it was a bit different.

No, I aren't too fussed about Manhunt II.
I am particularly narked, about having my choice taken away.

What if they win?
What if it got totally banned?

You just know they'd be on a high horse then, and start attacking GTA IV, and anything else.

If you stop and look at it, the last few GTA games have been pretty sick.
Mowing down pedestrians, etc. I've never found it sick. I take it with the humour it was intended. It's not real. It doesn't look real. It's a piece of fun, that some people just don't get, and think it's sick. Why would you want to mow down some pedestrians? Because it's fun. You wouldn't do it in real life, this isn't real life. etc!

Jesus, go watch the film 1984. (a little over dramatic perhaps) ;)

imo its no way near as violent as people make it out to be, you dont really see much imo, there are more gory games etc (soldier of fortune 1 and 2 are more violent imo)

a lot of people think that in the first one you kill innocent people, but your actually just trying to survive whilst being hunted down by gangs, and its a decent stealth action game.
