Mantle problems persist? - BF4

I've mentioned this in the PC games BF4 thread but I thought i'd mention it here too. For some reason I get constant stutters/spikes when using mantle.
Directx is absolutely fine although my fps using this is around 15-20 lower.
I've lowered settings in mantle etc but problems still persist.
Even while monitoring my FPS ( which averages around 55-60 in high action areas with most settings on ultra/4xmsaa in 64 man) their are still stutters where there shouldn't be.
Does anyone have any suggestions or are there others experiencing this same problem?

Regards.

I've only noticed it with xfire after a certain period and have been using DX for a while as a result.

Might want to list your specs again here :)

Hmm, gonna have to try it out again then.
Last time I tried mantle (with trifire) a few days ago, it was glorious for about 15 minutes before it dropped to an average of 40-50fps with stuttering...

Check memory usage, there is a memory leak in BF4 with Mantle

Comes and goes for me stuttering. Usually starts off with stutter then disappears. It used to be (few drivers back) GPU and now it's CPU.

I've turned it off now as since going 4k if I come out of the game in Mantle (quit game) it crashes on the next game start with a mantle error. Reinstalled game & drivers. To reboot the game I have to delete the player profile in the BF4 folder.

For me too DX11 it's fine. Haven't tried mantle on the latest 14.9's though. DX runs fine - just miss the extra smoothness it brought when there is no stutter.

The game itself is still beta grade anyway. They try and fix one part and ruin another. I'll not be shelling out any more money for DICE/EA games at pre order stage. I'll buy it if it works.

Memory Usage is around 10% higher than DX.
But not the crippling leak it use to be when I couldn't even start the game up with mantle.

Ye that is the RAM. With various other programs open my memory usage is at about 72% with Mantle. Where as with DirectX with the same programs it stands at about 62%.

processor speed?
since I use a single card and low settings I have had no issues with mantle running 100+ fps with 5040x1050 set up.
Normally if you load the gpu and that becomes the bottleneck baseline that still can be cpu stalling now and then for some reason.

Just stock "Turbo" mode. No BIOS settings touched as of yet so 4.0ghz I guess.

I've made the jump to 4k and tryed bf4 in mantle and it's ok for about 30mins then it's a stutter fest, with dx11 no problem with stuttering. I monitered the VRAM usage in gpu-z and it was hitting 9000mb so that will be the reason for stuttering.

Yer, you halve that for CF, so using 4500MB. This really should have been fixed.
