Mantle xfire causing 100% CPU usage in BF4

I reinstalled BF4 recently, for the first time since the Mantle crossfire update and found that my 4670k @ 4.4Ghz was hitting 100% cpu usage and causing horrendous stuttering. Anyway, I switched back to DX11 and the problem went away.

Has anyone else come across this problem and/or a solution?

Specs:

4670k
2x 290
16GB RAM
Asus Maximus VI Hero.
