Literally just testing this new lens out - It's a pentacon 135 f/2.8 prime. picked it up for next to nothing, 15 quid got me an AF confirm adapter (which is semi useful) and mounted on my 30D.

It's no 135 f/2.0L but it's very useful as long as you don't mind manual focus.

Can't wait to get my hands on some more dirt cheap primes to play with.

Awesome lens, is it the preset or auto version? The preset is the better of the two and has a 15 (!!) blade iris, and can produce some stunning bokeh.

I'm looking to buy one myself to fit on my Praktica MTL50.

Have a read of these threads and check the samples out (will post a couple below for the lazy people ;))

Mines just the "electric" version, 6 blade iris. I was struggling to get decent images at first, with dull days and the worlds shakiest hands, but the sun is beaming now and its very sharp lens, especially when stopped down. deffinatly a keeper.

any other lens I should be looking out for?

All the versions of this lens are pretty damn good in terms of sharpness, the 6 blade just has a slightly less awesome bokeh :p. Shaky hands, long(ish) un stabalised lenses and dull days don't make for very good photos do they?? Haha, should hopefully be getting some nice bright crisp and frosty winter mornings soon though :D.

There are plenty of MF lenses which are awesome out there, the SMC Pentax Takumar range are pretty good for the price and there is a wide selection of focal lengths available. If you are interested in MF lenses you should have a read of the forums at:

Check out the galleries too :).

The next lens I am looking to get personally (as well as a copy of your Pentacon) is a 20mm f/2.8 Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon, although these sell for quite a high price (upwards of £100).
