Many small vs few large?

Hey guys,

Out of sheer curiosity here what is the benefit to using a singularly large HDD to a couple of small HDD?

Lower MTBF
Less physical space

Noise, power, more ports free to upgrade in future.

Cooling, Heat......

I would say if you want to run some sort of RAID setup then it 'might' be better to have several smaller HD drives - or if you need a strong backup in the event of a failure.
If you are looking for a fast/cheap combo then an SSD for O/S and a large HD drive for storage would be the preferred option.

Myself, I'm going to buy a Samsung 840 EVO in about 5 mins to go with my two 1 TB Samsung F1's
