Map of the Problematique- why such a bad release?

Why did that song get such a bad release, I didn't even realise it had been released, didn't hear it on the radio or anything. I thought this was their best song on the album by far and was sure it would be a hit

Its shame it was a download only single, would have liked a 7'' version.

No idea! It is is my favourite track off of that album. I could see it having an epic video for some reason. Kinda gutting, I would have rather have this as a single than invicible.
