Hi All.

I have NAS with two network shares running and a media PC in my front room with both drives mapped.

Basically the media PC wont auto reconnect to the drives when i turn it on ( windows 7 ) I have tried deleting and re connecting but still get same issue... although if i double click on them in my computer i get no User / Pass prompt.

The only thing that has changed recently is that I added a switch between the Media Pc and router as I need more ports to be able to connect my TV, Xbox etc..

So before Media PC --> Router <-- Nas Drive - No problems

Now

Media PC --> Switch --> Router <-- Nas Drive

Could the switch be the problem? if so any way around it to force the Media Pc to reconnect other then the standard tick box's in windows.

I doubt the switch is causing this.

When you map the drive to the share, you should have an option to reconnect at logon. This will force the drive to be mapped each time you start the machine and then logon.

The reconnect at logon doesn't generally work. Enter the details of the share into 'Credential Manager' in control panel, that should sort it. Weird windows bug.

Sorted it..

was the switch to an extent..

because the drives were reconnecting or trying to before the network is established... found a way of making everything wait until the network is connected before attemting to logon to the drives and seems to have fixed it.
