Advertised on local paper and am wondering if it's a good "sidegrade" from my C320 BEE !

I really like the look of the Marantz amps and also I hear they have great headphone outputs which I will be making use of.

Main reason though is because I just want something that is a bit louder to drive my speakers (Tannoy M3 Cherry)

The PM-53 is advertised @ £65 and I'm almost certain I can sell my NAD (kekkles!) for more than that!

I went from a Nad C320BEE to a Marantz PM7001 and found a decent improvement (obviously louder, but also more detailed), good as the Nad is.....unfortunately I don't know how the PM-53 compares with the PM7001....:)

As you say, its a sidegrade at best. Its onlt 80wpc compared to the 50wpc of the Nad. Not as huge as it sounds on paper and the M3's are not exactly hard to power so the Nad should be more than capable of powering them. There is no substitute for a decent headphone amp. If thats what you really want you can get the Project Headbox for about £85 which will do a better job than any budget intergrated amp, The "Headbox" just plugs in to the tape loop.

Ah there is no tape loop on the NAD you see! (I assume this is the Phono input?)
