Mario Cart Wii - Classic Controller or Gamecube Pad?

My sisters got MarioCart on ehr Wii, and its awsome, but I just cannot get used to using the wheel or the nunchuck, so want a proper pad. Do i go for a Wii Classic Controller or a Gamecube pad?

Classic Controller -£15, Wireless (reaches the sofa), Proper Wii acessory, works in all stuff

vs.

GC Pad - £4, Wired (doesnt reach the sofa), doesnt work in everything

Suggestions?

I did read it. The simple fact is that the remote and nunchuck allows the best play by far. I stated the GC controller was the next best if you didn't want to try again. Mario kart only uses 3 buttons, all of which are easily accessible simultaneously using the nunchuck.

I dont care if you think the nunchuck is best, i dont. I cant get the hang of having my hands loose, they need to be holding the same thing and the wheel and side on wiimote method dont feel right either.

I will take your vote for a GC pad though. So far its 1-0 to the GC
 
Game cube controller all the way. I can’t stand the wheel it’s just too uncomfortable, It would be better if you could map the buttons to that ever you wanted.
 
It is the best as you can steer while boosting on straights a lot better than any other method. Just because it's clearly the best doesn't mean you're forced to use it :)
 
for me its gotta be the gamecube controller. just used to it from double dash

i did try the nun-chuck tonight but it doesnt feel comfortable unless i have the nun-chuck in my right hand, but that means that drift and shoot shoulder buttons are the wrong way round compared to a controller so lots of confusion lol

Will need to find an extension lead for the controller too, it wont reach my sofa with just the standard lead.

Will have a look in town for a second hand one.
 
Yea I agree with you there, my Wii isn’t that far away from where sit but many a time I’ve pulled the controller slightly towards me and brought my Wii with it. I’ve seen a few on the net so I think ill invest in 1 at the weekend. I haven’t tried the Nun-chuck yet but may give it ago later.
 
If you're going to buy a GC controller, get a wavebird or a knock off. It's well worth it.

I'd go for the GC over the classic - the classic isn't nearly chunky enough once you're used to the wavebird or even a PS style controller.

That being said, I agree with Kreeeee that the nunchuk is the best bet, but if it doesn't work for you then that's fair enough... Ironically, I love the Wii controls for exactly the reason you've said you don't. That is, I love the fact that my hands aren't constrained. I can sit with my hands literally right next to each other, or stretched apart. I can - and frequently do - play with my arms crossed (not fully folded, but with my forearms crossing). It's so much better than being forced to sit with your hands a rigid 4 inches apart.
 
buy the gun attachment, will all be one controller then :p

wheel is the funnest to play
nunchuck is the fastest/best

doing jump boosts with the wheel is too unpredictable, you can veer off just slightly and it's end of days

diddy kong with the dolphin bike, or a mini charachter with that jet car for the win

since using the dolphin bike or jet car, i get at least 1star rating in competition mode (whatever 1 player is called)
 
I need to get my wii wheel percentage usage higher as there is an ongoing competition on the mkwii online bit in game! but at the moment I am pro with *** nunchuk and wiimote, much prefer it for driving now than anything else!

Also it's easier to pull of jump stunts with a quick flick of the wiimote whilst you still have full steering flexibility on the nunchuck.
What are peoples friend codes here?
 
I use the GC controller i find it easier, i got sick of falling off on raindbow road with the wheel but wit the pad i find it a lot easier....here is my friends code for MK feel free to add me i might be on tonight for a few races 1891-1509-1540
 
If you have the clasic controller than use it unless you have the wavebird as they are both good. But i enjoy sitting back in my chair rather than leaning forward because my old GC controller isnt wireless.

Classic controler just connects to the wiimote so its enabled wireless that way.

I find the remote + nunchuk to be the easiest method for doing well however the wheel is probably more fun!
