Hi.
I got bored today and started working my way through the missions. Mainly because i wanted to perfect powersliding.
Anyway.
Im stuck at 3.6. Where i have to throw shells at the mole things.
Is it just me or is it unbelivably annoying?

Any tips?
 
There's some timing trick to it. I think if you hit them just as they being leaping you'll get them. Fire when they first peak out... can't remember from how far though.
 
The last power slide mission is annoying I could do the slides but would not have time to complete the lap! Did it in the end with 1 second to spare. Awsome game! Dont play it much now I have completed it though.
 
I play a lot of multiplayer still. To get good at powersliding practise time trials on baby park (6 slides per lap) and figure 8 (never ever stop sliding).
 
Ive found that the 14 powerslides in 1 lap is annoying. Both lack of time/track.
It seems that i'd need to slide on every turn on the track, but the problem is that some turns are so narrow that i hit the sides, effectivly canceling out the powerslide, or i slide, and it knocks me completely past the following turn. Losing me a chance to powerslide.
The most ive been able to get is 10 slides about 2 corners before the finish. And then i run out of time.

And the following mission, where i have to collect 40 coins on the moving clock. Thats annoying as well.

The mission after that, race Peach, was reasonably easy.
 
I found craming in power slides at the start of the lap, even on the straights, then saving a couple whilst you bomb it round the last few corners to get under the time limit.

As for the clock coin one, use the bottom screen for the overhead view, you can keep and eye on the hands as well as where all the coins are.
 
I'm stuck on 1.8, which is the first power sliding mission. I've done it up to 2 stars, but I really want to get 3 stars so I can complete the first set at 100% :) I just can't manage it tho - my best time is about 18.7s. I just suck at power sliding......any tips?
 
I find that the best way to powerslide, is to slide, turn into the corner, and then quickly alternate between Left/Right until the powerslide thing kicks in.
Not elegant, not the best way to do it, but good for us powerslide beginners.

What other way is there? I'd always assumed this was the proper technique, but now I'm intrigued.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Anybody know what time you have to crack on 1.8 to get the 3 stars?

I was under the impression that people who are used to powersliding dont 'alternate', they just steer inwards and wait for the right timing?
Maybe im wrong about that though? :confused:
 
Whats with the constant cheating in MK online?
I see karts/driver combos that are usually very slow cars, but they allways seem to go almost twice as fast as what im doing.
I see people zipping roung half the lap in mere seconds, and then crash into a wall near me and start 'moving' along the wall as if they were on the track!
Its very annoying. :mad:
 
Easiest way to do the Mole one is..

collect a green shell..
Hold it behind you..
And put your car just over the hole..

As the mole jumps out... POP a strike everytime.

Think you can easily get max star rating this way.

How do you explain my 'experiances' then?
Ive talked to my mate who has MK as well, and he says he sees similar things. Aparentely he says that he's seen people select certain characters in a certain order before picking the character that they want. He thinks its a cheat.
I personally think that they might be using GBA ActionReplays on the DS. If its even possible.
Either way, theres nothing that can account for the sort of 'behavior' that seems common place online.

Forgot to say, completed all the missions. Did the powerslide one with 8 seconds to spare. :cool:

same with fia 06 on my psp, except i find it either brazil, real madrid or ac milan. gets so boring when ronaldinho walks through my defence and scores non stop hatricks. he's way too overpowered in fifa,
