Its comming up christmas time and my niece is getting a Wii, now its only got a few games like the sports package and a couple of sonic games, was wondering if Mario kart with the Wheel will be ok for her, shes 12, as i remember getting really frustrated with the the N64 version, so the question is, is it more easier to play now-a-days, espically with the wheel?

The wheel can getsome getting used to... when learning to use it people tend to over correct themselves a lot making them swerve allover the place.

The wheel is a bit more difficult than using the wii gamepad. if you play the game with the pad and finish a Cup in 1st place on every circuit you cant get as high a rating as if you play it with the steering wheel

They've certainly dumbed it down a bit since the N64 days. I would say certainly get it, it's one of the games on the wii i would consider very good.

I'd agree with this.

I find the easiest control method (for winning online) is to use the remote and nunchuk. When playing with mates however it's more fun if you're all using wheels.

The game itself is very good and there's quite a few old school tracks which is nice.

Ordered it from here yesterday, wasnt expecting it for awhile as it said out of stock, recived an email yesetrday saying it was in the post and it arrived today, pretty good service for free delivery, now if OC stocked ps3 and xbox 360 games at the same prices as other online reatilers i would get them from here simply for the fast delivery.

hi
this is a fab game and would recomend it very highly . the wheels arnt that hard to get used to and its much more fun

cheers

Im still thinking about buying this - can you use a gamecube pad on it?

Also is it much different to the Gamecube Mario Kart or is it the same with a few new maps?

Yes, they have added a fair bit such as slip streaming

It is not as good as the original, but if you are a avid fan it is worth a go

Yes you can use the gamecube pad on it as far as i am aware (i dont have a pad to test tho :<)

Wii Wheel isnt hard to get used to - just dont need to turn the wheel as much as u'd think otherwise it'll end up bein annoying and turnin the complete wrong direction!!

mario kart on the wii is hugely infuriating. get to first, bam hit by a shell. get the first again and bam, hit by another shell......

i thought it was very disappointing personally.

Its the rubberband AI ... just never play 2 Player with the difficulty above medium and you'll still be able to win all the time. And I personally can use both just as good as each other, driftings easier with the Remote and that's about it ...

The remote is massively inferior to the nunchuck for speed (MT's) and manoeuvring.

O RLY? I had to learn to use a Wheel because my mate would never let me use the Numchuck and now that he has I can honestly say that as far as I'm concerned the only thing the remote is better for is drifting because you press the analogue sideways rather than have to move the wheel.
