LEGEND

A mystery Scot who caused a social media storm after celebrating Uruguay's winning goal against England has been named as Mark McConville from Glasgow.

The 41-year-old, who was dressed in the Scotland away top and a tartan hat and ginger wig, was seen on TV waving a Saltire and cheering with Uruguay fans.

Mr McConville has been doing charity work in Brazil, donating football strips to children.

He was criticised by some England fans after their team lost 2-1.

What a total waste of space.. He should go and catch some haggis or maybe even have a mutual experience with a sheep!

Before anyone says anything, I am from Scotland but I give my support to any home nation team...

So many tiny minded people in Scotland these days!!

lol. Keep living the dream m8. I pity the Scottish, it's got nothing to do with banter cause their banter is always the same butt hurt crap we hear every time the world cup comes around. Remember, we won it once. More than can be said for Scotland. :D

Well you do keep crashing out in usually embarrassing fashion, so yeah that might be why you hear it every World Cup though perhaps not this time as you do have a decent squad but a tough group. :p

It goes both ways. Wade into a thread about Scottish football and all you get is hate and ridicule from the english.

Therefore it's only fair we do the same back :p

I had to do a double take on the gif when I saw it but it was brilliant when I spotted the saltire and the hat in among a group of Uruguay fans and he was celebrating like a champion.
 
He was there because of charity work he did with Uruguay and he had been supporting them not only in this competition but also previous ones.

I take it i was the first 'Jok' (sic) who pasted something from the sports forum which an english / irish user posted first :rolleyes: Guess we're not the ones with the chips on our shoulders......

Scotland football team - we know we're ****

English football team - We've won the world cup once so its our right to win it again (everytime) then wonder why you get folk ripping the **** out of you :o
