Marketing your web business

Hi all,

I work for a small Web design company. We have a good set of skills between us, a decent portfolio and website and a good client list too.

I was wondering if other webbies could share some info on how you market your company - i.e., how do you get new work in? Do you send out letters/fliers or is it mostly word of mouth etc? We mostly send out letters and find we get a very poor conversion rate, so we are looking to diversify our marketing.

Any ideas?

Well, we also do a lot of ringing around. I wonder whether it is really just down to there being too much competition in our area. Ah well, if there is no magic trick, I guess we must just keep slogging
