I know for some, that these two products are a taboo and some absolutely hate it...

But what is about them which people find so disgusting? it really is true, that you either love it or hate, I like both, but Bovril is my favourite, a bit lightly covered on toast in is an absolute privilege for me and I enjoy it immensely.

Ever since I was a young boy and introduced to these products they stood firmly on my taste buds ever since.

What are you views on them?

Marmite is great on toast.

Bovril is an abomination though. You can mix it with water. Thats called instant gravy. Beef tea, its just wrong!!

I like marmite. When I first tried it though I found it disgusting so it took me few times to start enjoying it.
I wouldnt put bovril on toast tho.

Thinly spread Marmite on toast is great. Even better is then spreading peanut butter on top. Sounds weird but really good.

I've been getting Vegemite recently though (Tesco has it) as I find it easier to spread and a tiny bit less salty.

Vegemite is truly grim. Marmite FTW! :D

I wonder what it is that makes you like one but hate the other?

Bovril is amazing, Marmite is absolutely disgusting. It's the overly saltines and the taste.
bovril has a far nicer taste and isn't as salty.
Which makes perfect sense as it's mainly beef stock with some yeast extract added in.

Marmite is pretty much 100% yeast, bovril is 41% beef extract, 27% yeast,
