Martinis 6970 = FAKE

Guys this fella posted fake results and lied about the special performance of the 6970?
It misled a number of people on here, something which u don't expect from forum
Members.
An yet u guys are bitching at me because I used the wrong colour font?
Seriously French tart, the only thing u can contribute to this forum is to make a goodbye thread.

I agreed with the point about you bringing up an issue with the results he posted. Just not your general childish ranting style of writing.

...which is something you seem intent on continuing. You'll get far better reactions from people on her if you learn to moderate your tone slightly.

I think you don't understand the issue here, Martini1991 posted a Unigine result that uses the driver that isn't available anywhere atm and was rumoured to boost the performance by quite a margin.

Taking into account that his CPU is clocked at 4.2GHz and that there was (is) another driver on the way (that officially supports 6800 and 6900), there wasn't anything wrong with giving him a benefit of the doubt.

Figures don't match up? Or haven't u read the thread.
They are doctored edits of his 6870 xfire setup.
He hasn't even got a 6970 in hand.

Why am I not surprised to see you, of all people, saying that?

What happened to the 6970 being "30-50% faster than the GTX580"?

What happened to your "source"? Have you heard anything back from "him"?

It turns out his "source" had saw 6950 crossfire performance instead, but told him hit was a single 6970. :p

OcUK creamed it in at Midnight. Many of these sales would have come from people who will be having second thoughs now, but many would have bought these cards irrespective of today's reviews. Good move by Gibbo opening up orders early. I bet they are not selling one card per minute now.

And how exactly was I supposed to know that last night?

Seriously dude, you need to chill. Read my previous posts in this thread and you'll understand what the issue is.

Everyone in their right mind was telling people to wait for the official reviews. OcUK put their cards online when certain competitor broke the NDA. Even Gibbo have told people to wait for the reviews in the morning and not to rush things as they have plenty of stock.

Fake Heaven?

Dont believe you!

I am sorry if my tone is a bit angry but were all here on the same team.
We want to see true performance figures of the new cards no matter if they are amd or Nvidia.
Fake stuff is to be expected from outside the forums, but from forum members themselfs?
That's just wrong, especially when u got about 280£ on the line.
Integrity should be non negotiable on the forums between members.

As much as I beleive Martini was out of order and he has lost all credibility on these forums, I do think you need to chill Skyrocket. Your posts and verging on personal abuse.

Being a liar is one thing on a forum, being nasty and personal is far worse IMO.

Duff-man you do my head in but it amuses me when DM keeps putting you right all the time.

Now I suggest you stop this witch hunt of a respect forum member.

Putting me right how?

Like when he utterly dismissed my suggestion that Cayman would have around the same performance-per-Watt and performance-per-transistor as Cypress, saying that it would be "massively MASSIVELY better"? (how did that turn out?)

Or perhaps you mean when he claims that Fermi is only a tiny update to GT200, and that Cypress to Barts is a much bigger update (flying in the face of every technical analysis made, not to mention common sense)?

There are plenty of people on this forum who post useful information and interesting viewpoints (lightnix for example, or jokester, or several others - too many to list).

There are also those who are biased to one camp or another, and I don't have any problem with them - everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Then there are the odd one or two who spread false information as fact, and I will always continue to call them on it, because spreading false information helps no-one.

Finally there is drunkenmaster, who is a combination of all three of the above (and yes also he posts useful information and interesting viewpoints on occasion). However, this also seems to be combined with slightly arrogant assessments of the way GPU design should be undertaken, usually with a general "nvidia are retarded" slant. Now even this in itself isn't too bad, but if you are going to make such claims then you had better at least understand the GPU design process. I ignore a lot of this, but sometimes when the claims get a little too ridiculous I will point them out.

I'm sorry you think that I'm "on a witch hunt" but that's really not the case. I really don't enjoy arguing with drunkenmaster - any precise points that I make about GPU design are either ignored, or are countered using only general statements based on assumption or rumour. It is impossible to have a structured and useful debate in this way. That said, I don't like reading BS disguised as truth on technical forums, as some people will inevitably take it as fact. So I will continue to call him on it where I feel it is needed.

All fair points really. I'd be interested to know what Martini has to say in his defence.
