US: Marvel & Netflix - Daredevil

I watched 5 episodes of this yesterday, and it's absolutely brilliant! I really hope it's something that continues.

TBH Vincent D'Onofrio deserves some awards for that performance. The whole show was good, but it's his character that makes it. Hopefully he reprises the role in future shows/seasons (or maybe the Spiderman movie? That would be awesome).

Having finished all 13 episodes, I'd give it a 9/10. More please.

Didn't realise it was the same guy as the bug from men in black which i always thought was a great performance. It's also great to see charlie cox getting some work after being in a hugely underrated film :D plus we went to the same school so you always slightly route for them

Loved every episode of this and CAN NOT WAIT for a season two!

I know the suit is iconic and needed but am i the only one who actually enjoyed his black suit and how unprotected he was, that every fight was down to his skill and will to win rather than armour? It made every fight an edge of seat event :D

but he can hear the natural frequency from a plank of wood and know exactly where it is.

the guy is amazing man! he lost his eye sight and gained radar without even emitting a sound! the guy is incredible

dood can even tell the direction a gun is pointing when it's making no sound man I reckon he's got a video camera and his buddy is giving him voice commands at super speed.

He's the real hero behind the mask

Binged watched it, now i'm sad that I have to wait for Season 2. A lot of great references to the MCU and Marvel in general.

Episode 11 or 12 will help here :)

well I watched them but I started skipping a lot to the fisk scenes.

decent series but just started to lose interest, I'm not really in to the super hero thing and hearing "this is my city" in every super hero series is getting boring and over used

If you find it frustrating that superhero films don't contain good science, it may not be the genre for you :D

Wait? What? Science fiction isn't real? :(

Was away for the weekend and didn't really have much to do so binge watched the entire series. I know it is daredevil but I did think they pushed his super senses a bit far sometimes, like knowing everything that was in a room and where it was instantly. Overall though really enjoyed the series and hope they make a second.

Really like this actually.

poor Wesley. My favourite character :(.

Hopefully they'll do a second series. I like how netflix doesn't make you wait a week between episodes! Binge watching FTW!

Just finished this.

I was rather underwhelmed. It didn't grab me like other series have. I didn't get that "just one more episode" grip.

It was good, but I think they ruined it with the disjointed story lines. Dropping you in with him already Daredevil and then waiting 6 episodes before filling in his back story was a bit backwards. It also felt like it was all over the place for the first half with no consistent solid underlying story really showing through.

Gets much better in the second half once the characters are clear and the core story builds to be coherant and consistently a feature. It had the feeling of either needing another 13 episodes, or needing to get a move on at the start.

The GF felt the same. Half way through the series she was asking what was going on, saying it felt like it was doing a lot to go nowhere.

Some of the fight scenes and camera work were great though. That single shot in the hallway fighting to rescue the kid was great, although I think they snuck in a couple of cuts. The rotating camera in the car with the blind guy was also great. However I do wish TV and movies would stop with the wobbly camera in static scenes. There was one in their office that gave my GF motion sickness!

Plenty of gore and great action, and a second half of the series that was brilliant. Its just a shame the first half let it down.

Just finished the 3rd episode and I'm not sure. The fight scenes are a bit tedious and the storyline has not been that interesting. Now Vincent D'Onofrio has turned up I'm hoping it gets better.

I'm definitely getting this as well. It's a great show but unlike a few other series I've watched, I've found it much easier to finish an episode and not be compelled to watch the next. I wonder if it's maybe because it doesn't really have any sort of cliffhanger after each episode.

Anyway, just finished episode 9. Also, Vanessa is hot!

Nearly finished ep 2 and had to comment as it all seems a bit negative here.
I love it! Its dark, gritty, violent and real.

Compared to other marvel shows - AOS (No), Agent Carter (trash) this is a breath of thresh air.
Its very Batman and I like it.

Watched the finale last night - loved the whole series.

Personally, I like the early episodes where everyone is just finding their part in the plot and nothing major is going down.
I found the overall story to very interesting, but straightforward and you felt like every character had an important role to play.

Some other shows it feels like some characters are just there for the ride but I didn't feel that here which is great.

Looking forward to more, and the other Netflix series that are coming.
I know nothing about any of the 4 characters Netflix are doing and after this I'm excited to find out about them.

only character I had seen in other things was Kingpin

I just felt that the rate of progress in the early episodes lent itself towards a ~24 episode season rather than a 13 episode one. It took a long time getting its feet and building the story, and then once it did blew its load in about 4 episodes and was finished.

They needed to either make it a full length series, or get a move on in the early episodes.

The style and atmosphere was great though. I loved that.
