Marvel Studios: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

It looks brilliant! Disney/Marvel are definitely going all out with new original Disney + content.
Everything they've shown so far looks fantastic, and the MCU Phase 5 plans just add to it.

My Disney + subscription is definitely getting renewed next year.

Falcon isn't my favorite MCU character, but after Civil War those Characters weren't given much to do anyway so it'll be good to see what the actors can bring with dedicated screen time.

I don't like the character either. IMHO it should have been "redshirted" early on. But then I don't like Mackie either, both on and off screen his attitude isn't backed up by his (poor) acting.

Mackie already killed Altered Carbon - hope he doesn't do the same here.

100% this.

I will watch but it but its a man in jet pack, aside from him being poor actor its a dull character. I need more than OTT action sequences these days, its been done to death and they are boring.

It's so good to have Marvel back regularly, personally I love Falcon. Will be interesting to see how he does without Cap though, as it was their friendship that was a big plus. Great to have more Sharon too, I was hoping her character wouldn't be 'lost' with the Cap films ending.

Mackie didn't kill Altered Carbon, it just wasn't that good and didn't have much widespread appeal.

Wut?! Altered Carbon S1 was fantastic, S2 killed it. Like Doctor Who etc, the 'Stack' method would have allowed the characters and the show to continue ad infitum.

Mackie was soulless in the role :(

I know what your saying, I guess they may aim for a more odd couple/buddy cop feel. Not everything needs to be ground breaking and risky, a good solid entertaining show that builds on existing foundations is ok.
Although that said I see this as a tricky one if they're aiming for Sam to pick up the Cap mantle.

Always felt Falcon was a really rubbish character but I have been watching all the Marvel films in timeline order recently and just watched Winter Soldier again. He was decent in it. Nothing special but I think all I remember him from is his bit parts in the other films. Bit like hawkeye. Just a weak character. I think part of it is just that his "power" is a bit weak and suffers from issues with animations. He looks silly when he comes trotting in to land etc

Agreed, season 1 was outstanding.

Mackie was absolutely terrible as the lead in S2 and killed the show for me. In fact, I've found him dull and soulless in literally everything I've ever seen him in. It's what's putting me off this new Marvel show, I'll give it a chance but I'm not holding my breath.

I thought there was a more obvious choice for becoming Cap than Sam.

I guess Falcon becoming Cap was following a recent story arc but i am surprised they didnt go with Barney (Winter Solider) as he was more alike to Steve in terms abilities and powers and did become a more ruthless Cap (like Batman) for a time. :D
