Mascherano charged with improper conduct

I was thinking the same; he would have more than likely sat out the game at the weekend and we can more than manage against Blackburn.

For the simply reason that players who have done the exact same thing only received a further one match earlier in the season.

Typical consistency from the FA

The extended 2 game ban is for his abuse to everyone whilst refusing to leave the field of play. If he'd gone straight after his red card it would only be one game. He hasn't been severely dealt with, it's fair punishment with the ban, though he should have been fined more.

Adebayor was charged with the exact same thing yet only received a further 1 game.

Togo striker Adebayor has also been charged with improper conduct for reacting aggressively to his sending off and failing to leave the field of play.

There's absolutely no consistency and the only reason Mascherano has been given a bigger ban is because of the timing and that shouldn't be the case.

I presume your talking about last year? In the Carling cup final? So it's a different season so hardly the same.

He also shouldn't of been sent off so his was very harsh;)

That's harsh :(

the FA ( Friends of Alex ) have always looked after your lot :p

FA stands for ****ing arse****s. Because they are a bunch of ****ing arse****s.

You're right the FA always have our back like that time they... hmmm... the time they.... wait I can't think of anything. Maybe you can enlighten me. ;)

Yes it was from last year. SSN mentioned a similar incident from the Championship who only got the extra game, which happened this year but i can't remember the side or the player's name.

Also the rules haven't changed so it makes no difference whether it was this or last season. Same crime (well Adebayor's was worse) but different punishments?

Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has apologised for his actions before and after his sending off against Manchester United and admits he deserved his extended ban. (Daily Mail)

(BBC Gossip)

So why the appeal?!?
