How do they all sound so utterly ridiculous?

I just had an encounter with one driving into Newcastle on an NSL road. I decided to floor it on the green light, then at seemingly warp speed a GranSport nails it past. Most high performance cars have an exhaust note, but this thing was more like a cacophonous orchestra. On the gear change it sounded like an execution by firing squad.

What is it exactly that makes them sound so good?

I suggest you clean you're ears out, preferably with brake cleaner or petrol.

Maserati engine / exhaust notes are amongst the finest in the world.

My point is that they sound absolutely incredible. My question is how they are amongst the finest in the world? What makes them so good compared to other cars?

I'm sure there will be people who buy them over competitors purely for the exhaust note.

They do indeed sound epic. Almost unbecoming of the prestige a marque like that has, but very good for it. :cool:
