Mashed Potato - Puree or "rustic"?

What is it with restaurants puréeing the best food on the planet?

I prefer my mash to be more "rustic" with salt and plenty of butter :)

Am I missing something?

I tried steaming the pots instead of boiling them and I am temtped to say the mash was more enjoyable.

I added salt, butter, wholegrain mustard, spring onions and some double scream.
