I can't get ME1 to run above 1280 resolution through steam, I want it to run at 1650 but it's not having it. I've googled and all the workarounds i've found are for the standalone product :(

As there are a fair few steam users here and no doubt many of you have Mass Effect, I was hoping someone could help me out :)

In game, settings, graphics, resolution - Did you try clicking the down arrows to scroll to the higher resolutions ? :D

Go to steam folder> steam apps> common> mass effect>binaries> mass effect config file.

I had same issue but the above resolved it though there is blue arrows too so check for them however if none then try the above.

Holy Thread Resurection Batman!!

got this on hard copy the other day and running at max on the Configuration tool at launch, but didn't see any AA settings. Is there away to force AA/improve GFX on an ATI card?

I can't remember if it has aa or not, doesn't it have it in ingame settings? What i do remember is that it looks brilliant, but the edges are kinda jagged even when on max.

Rename the Mass effect exec file to UT3.exe, then set the catalyst AI to 'advanced'. If you then force AA in the control panel it should appear ingame :)

I remeber from my 1st play through of this game on release there was an annoying depth of field issue on this game. Took me an age to work out how to resolve it, it made everything look blurry and pixelated in the background.

If any1 gets this just google mass effect depth of field fix or something, its just something simple like setting DepthOfField = 0 or something in the config
