Well, I never did like the first, it was cack in my eyes, tried it oh so many times, but the second looks a lot more involving, and the art is great, looks awsome :D

So, question is, can I start ME2 with a new char without being hindered too much or will I get lost again like I did in ME1?

I was told that if you didn't like ME1, like me, then don't bother with ME2 as it's more of the same, albeit better.

Weird but so far (and im not too far in) but i actually thought ME1 was better, just the removal of the inventory, the lack of skills to upgrade.... just feels like its missing something.

Probably just me..........

Think ME2 is a lot better in terms of usability compared to ME1. I couldn't get to grips with ME1 either, although i did start playing it the other day and enjoyed it a lot more cause i actually bothered to listen to what the characters were saying.

Ordered ME2 yesterday and can't wait to try it. Looks a lot more polished than the first. And story wise you don't have to finish the first because it tells you what happened at the end of the first at the beginning of ME2 (i think).

I would definitely play the complete the first before playing the second. It makes it much better to know what they're talking about in the stories in ME2 where they refer back to what happened in ME1.

I think I actually preferred ME1 to ME2 though so if you didn't like the first, the second may be even worse :p.

I been threatening to get ME2 all week, but have always held back cos i didn't really like the 1st. Gonna give the 1st yet another try, think this is the 3rd of 4th time i've started it lol

Try playing ME 1 on a different platform if you didn't enjoy it.

I played it first on 360 and couldn't get into it at all but playing it recently on PC (steam offer over christmas) and I'm finding it fantastic.

You have ocuk shiney new toy syndrome, I have to fight the urge myself to buy a game getting decent reviews that a lot of people are playing.

Yet I found the first one boring, cack combat and I end up skipping long conversations. If I'm honest the only rpgs I've ever liked are KOTOR and a Too human.

So I'm not going to bother until it's a fiver and I'm very bored.

Give it a week and everyone will be playign bioshock and then Aliens Predator, just hold out for a week and you can forget all about a game you never really enjoyed in the first place ;)
