Mass Effect 2 on the PS3

How many people will buy it without being able to play ME1 though ? I mean, it was an improvement in many way, but will be a shame that only half (or two-thirds) of the story is available.
 
Not sure what to make of this - they really ought to have done 1 + 2 on a single BD. The questions at the beginning of ME2 don't take account of whether you've killed Wrex or not for starters. Will it have all the DLC included?

Not so sure about that as ME1 on the PC wasn't published by MS, in fact it wasn't even ported by the bioware chaps. EA got one of their own development studios to port it over to the PC after they bought Bioware (and with it, the rights to the Mass Effect IP) and then published it themselves, there's no reason they couldn't do the same for the PS3.

One of the publishing clauses was part-ownership of ME1 if I recall correctly. It's not going to happen and I'll eat my socks if it does. Bioware would have loved to put both ME1 and ME2 on the same disc, and it would have made a lot of sense too.

The PS3 version of ME2 will come with all the DLC on the disc from what I've just read. Right now my only concern is that 360 ports of UE3 games to PS3 are notoriously poor and ham-fisted.

Didn't realize that, i agree though that it won't get ported, it's too late and even if what i said was correct, they've decided to go with ME2.

Some UE3 games have come out perfectly fine, Unreal Tournament 3 being the most glaring example. But on the whole you're right. Doesn't bother me though, i played both of the first two games on the PC :p
 
I'm currently playing 2 on PC now :) I'm nearly done with it (just grinding everything before starting the Reaper IFF mission).

The weirdo in me would actually buy the PS3 version too if it's well-ported.
 
Never expected this. But then, I never expected GTA: Episodes from Libetry City to be on PS3. What next? Left4Dead?
 
Good news for any ps3 only gamers, for those with both consoles you can get it for £13 new these days already.... looking forwad to number 3 :)
 
Mass effect is quite story driven I’m surprised they aren’t releasing the 1st game on the ps3 as well.
 
Disappointed if no ME1, but hopefully they will release some sort've summary for ME1 (back-story told through videos?).

As long as it's enjoyable without needing to have played the first game I will be playing it :)

edit: ME2 on the ps3 to include 'hours of bonus content' :)

Well, we've got portal 2 on the way to the PS3, it'll be interesting if L4D follows suite.

I honestly can't believe ME2 is coming out on PS3. I've got the xbox version sitting right in front of me with it's "Microsoft Game Studios" in the bottom right corner of the artwork.

I've already completed it on PC, might get it just for the trophies.

There is going to be some strong nerd rage itt.
