Mass Effect 2

I didn't "get it" until my third attempt. For some reason, on that third go everything seemed to just click and I finished Eden Prime and couldn't stop playing til the end.

ME1 and ME2 have pretty much been the most enjoyable game series I have played bar Monkey Island.

Doh - just started ME2 but never played 1. Had I ought to get that under my belt first?

I'm not a big RPGer (FF VII is about it - but best game I've ever played!) and initially felt a little confused by all the powers and different ammos and what not. A little tutorial for noobs rather than being thrown straight in would have been good. I know the prologue missions attempt this, but not all that well imho - I needed Mario 64 levels of tutoring :) "Now we're going to show you what an overload is - see the flashing icon there..." etc etc. Still just about got the hang of it now - I just spam overload and combat drones etc soon as they're available - that's the way, right?

Loving the game, and my female Shepard is uber-hot :)

I've recently started playing Mass Effect 1 and I'll admit I found it very dull to start with. In fact it took me a few weeks of occasional play to get hooked in. For those who never managed to stick with the game I can advise you try and get though the opening sequence where you wander around the city. The dialogue can get a bit much and can put some off, but it's once you leave this city the game really takes off.

Once you've left the city you are in control of what you want to do. Sure it's not open ended, but the options are there for taking, where as in the beginning you're kind of just clicking on everything and everyone you can see listening to the masses of conversation.

I'm really into the game and look forward to playing the 2nd too.

I wish I could play it. Get frame rate drops all the time for no reason. tried everything, only works ok straight after I have installed new drivers. Switch my pc off and problems back again. every other game i have works fine
