for some reaosn i cant get anti aliasing to work with mass effect, i have forced it in the nvidia cp and selected override and supersampling but its not working

i have a gtx295 with win7 76bit (if it matters) :p

any idea what could be causing it to not work?

Unreal Engine 3. Try renaming the mass effect exe file to UT3.exe.

This should allow you to brute-force antialiasing in the game :)

thanks but im using the steam version so i dont think it would work if i rename the file, i should have mentioned steam in my first post :p

Well i have been messing with drivers and the 195.xx ones are terrible for me (drops to 25 fps in place!). Forcing AA with nhancer seemed to work (2x2 super) but dropped my overall fps by about 40%.

Just gone back to 191.07 drivers and fps sit on 62fps cap, enabled the nhancer setting but doesn't look like my AA is working :(

Try renaming the .exe and creating a shortcut directly to it in the start menu?

Otherwise i have no idea :( unless you can duplicate the UT3.exe profile for Mass Effect in the drivers...

thanks but when i change the name then steam tells me the game is unavailable :(
ill have a look in the drivers tho and see if i can copy the settings from ut

Did you try removing nvidia default mass effect profile ???

one more idea for you, if you can't get it to work then give this a bash:

...in case there are other people who just got the game (I did) who want AA to work, you don't have to rename the .exe to UT3.exe if you have an nVidia card, you can use nHancer (http://www.nhancer.com/) which is a free utility, and under AA Optimization for Ghostbusters (/or other Unreal 3 based game), choose 00041 Unreal Tournament 3.

thanks for the help, i tried using nhancer with those settings and pretty much every other combination of settings i could think of but it still wont work, i tried with and without the nvidia cp profile so looks like i wont be getting aa :(

i just noticed there is a newer driver so ill try again with that :p

well it turns out i was a idiot :o
i was sure my drivers were uptodate but after finding out they were not and installing the latest ones it works fine from nvidia cp :)
