I fancy playing the original 3 games again on my PC

whats the best route these days and are they ok with windows 10

has anybody modded them to make them look a bit better? if you have modded them what are the essential mods for them

The last time I looked you could buy 1,2 and 3 as a pack on Origin. I have no idea what DLC this included.

TBH I would be very surprised if they were not included as part of origin access (with all DLC). Which is £10 per month I think.
This would be a good thing to look at as you get access to loads of other games as well.
Andromeda is on there as well.

2 and 3 look and play ok out of the box at 1080p.
1 does have multiple mod packs to make it look more pleasant but I have never tried them.

@FTM
Have all 3 on Origin, non issue to use on W10 and HW I have. I think I have texture mod applied to original, will have to check.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I do have a question in regards to this game.

If buying the Mass Effect Trilogy over at Origin, does it include all the DLC's for all 3 games ?? It don't really say on their game page, does mention this though.

PLEASE NOTE: Mass Effect Trilogy includes Mass Effect Pinnacle Station and Bring Down the Sky

And also, is there any different options if playing the male or female Shepard character ?

I don't think so. Even after all this time, they still seem to want people to pay top dollah for that.
Yeah, you right. I finally found a post over at EA's forum confirming that ME2 and ME3 DLC's has to be bought separately. Link

Yes. There is currently no edition of ME2 or ME3 that contains all of the DLC.

The Mass Effect Trilogy on PC includes:
  • Mass Effect 1 + Bring Down The Sky DLC + Pinnacle Station DLC
  • Mass Effect 2 + Cerberus Network (which includes Zaeed – The Price of Revenge, The Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, and Normandy Crash site mission)
  • Mass Effect 3
To get all the DLC for ME2 and ME3 you would need to get the separate DLC bundles they have released for each of the two games that @EA_David has already linked above.

Seriously though, at this point why don't they just make an "Ultimate" edition of the two games separately and of the trilogy?

So the DLC's for ME3 Costs as much as all 3 games combined, then slightly less for the ME2 DLC's.

Thanks, might wait with buying it then if it turns out that it is Mass Effect that is the game they gonna remaster.

And to make it worse ^^ the DLCs are never discounted in any of the Origin sales.

In some of the ME games (like with a lot of RPGs),
there are different options sometimes depending on whether you are a Male or Female character.
You will sometimes have an extra choice on the dialog trees and it will also affect some of the Paragon/Rebel options you are given.

They actually had DLC sales just a few days ago iirc. If you're starting the games anew then definitely mod them, it adds a lot! Look into the A LOT mod description on nexusmods and they'll point you to further mods.

Have been playing ME for a while now, without any mods part from one which I was "forced" to install due to a bug. I have a Ryzen 5 and there seems to be a glitch in the game if you using a AMD CPU, which suddenly makes your characters look like big black walking blocks. After looking around it was recommended to use this mod: FPS Counter and Post Processing Effects, unfortunately due to it is being outdated it didn't work, but luckily the author also linked to his own website for more information and there it was an updated version that worked !

The site is called Pharago and this mod supports other games as well as ME, like ME 2 and Fallout 3 and New Vegas among others. Just thought I post it here incase others start playing ME or replaying it with an AMD CPU's and get some black blobs walking around in the game as well ! :p

Also to mention, the mod does more then just fixing that glitch. If you like to play in windowed mode, it makes it borderless (and actually makes the AMD overlay working which it did not at the beginning when I was playing in windowed mode), adds a FPS counter and make it easier to take screen shoots as well. One note though, on the Nexus site it says the mod has Ad Support, but the latest version from the authors website does not have it so that part can be ignored.

In any case, as I mentioned, just posting it on the off chance anyone else would be needing it.

And for the mod suggestions above, I be keeping them in mind when I do a second run and playing the more evil person. :p

I wonder if ME3 Multiplayer still has anyone on it? That part of the game was surprisingly fun.
