If you had to choose between the two to play now, which would you go for?

I've owned both for ages and installed neither. I now have a few hours to kill. Hence my Q!

Have you completed ME1 before?

ME2 was good, personally ME2 for me, I've tried so many times to get into Witcher 2, get to that random town in a swamp area after the intro to the game and lose all interest. It just doesn't grip me...

Oh definitely ME2 then. The Witcher 2 was good, but had some bloody annoying bits too. ME2 was just class, start to finish.

Both are some of the best games I have ever played, though at a push I would go on a ME trilogy binge. Then binge on The Witcher when number 3 comes out :D

Don't play ME2 if you haven't finished ME1, its a great series that is a lot better if you play them in order.

The OP has repeated a dilemma for me.

I tried the Witcher 2 but didn't really click with it.But it played well on Eyefinit.

I have ME1 and ME2 and an Eyefinity setup - will it play OK on Eyefinity?

I need an absorbing game at the moment...

Once you get a few spells unlocked in The Witcher 2 and you know what is what, that game will destroy your free time. I can't really compare with ME though, as that is a series I still have to play :o

Witcher 2 is better. Mass Effect is great too as a series.
I would play Witcher 2 first and Mass Effect after that, from start to finish, uploading saves.

And in May you can resume Witchering with Wild Hunt.

Mass Effect.

I just can't get in to the Witcher series. :( I hated the combat and the setting really didn't grab me.

Whatever you chose, both will take up 'more than a few hours'. :D

Thanks for the input, I actually installed both. The idea was to run 15-20 mins of each and make a call.

However Witcher 2 runs like toffee on my machine whilst ME2 runs maxed out silky smooth, so ME2 gets the go.
