I have access to Mass Effect on the PC, however I'd like to play it in more relaxed conditions on my 360.

Is the 360 the same as the PC version?

I've done this with Oblivion before which turned out to be a big mistake as it's terrible for the 360 and far superior on the PC.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Same game on both systems but I'd still prefer it on PC. Borrowed a mate's Mass Effect for 360 at release and decided it was too awesome to play beyond the first hour...and waited for the PC version to come out!
Mostly though that was because I don't like aiming with the pad so you if you are fine with that you should be fine with Xbox version.

tbh its a shame mass effect doesnt support the 360 pad. silly decision really, as that would be a win-win. big screen, comfa sofa, kick-ass pc and a joypad, not some awkward kb+m combo. iit works so well for those games that do support joypads.

Dont get me wrong, Me is better on the pc. but the graphics arent that much better (thanks steam and not letting me renamed the exe to enable FSAA) and it's just not quite as relaxed with a keyboard and mouse. im split between the two really

For casual sessions, I'd actually prefer this - don't get me wrong, for proficiency in any game that requires precision I'd pick a k&m every time, but it'd be nice to kick pack on the sofa, max out the auto-aim and casually run through with a pad on a game like ME.

That being said, if you're only buying one version, it has to be PC.

PC of course. I find the control a lot easier personally, and if you want to play a game like ME, you don't want to do it in a relaxed environment, you want to be on edge :p

i tell you what though, after playing 80 hours or so of ME1 on the 360, the interface on the pc version is....it just doesnt feel right :p

I agree with this - I prefer the Xbox 360 wheel interface in ME2. Although the 8 hot keys in the PC version are good, the main interface is a bit 'weird'. :p With regards to the graphics, I'd say they're exactly the same. The framerate on the 360 is much improved over ME1.

You could always use the software (can't remember name off hand) to remap the keyboard / mouse buttons to 360 pads. Might work okay?

I've played both, finished the 360 version a few times. Then after getting rid of my 360, I got myself the PC version. And I'm yet to finish it. It's better in a few aspects, Load times are much improved and the graphic niggles the 360 version had have gone.

BUT because it's keyboard and mouse I'm finding it harder to relax and just play. With the 360 version I just sat back and enjoyed it.

The Hotkey functionality of the Keyboard is golden though.

played mass effect 1 on 360 and mass effect 2 on PC, the gameplay is identical. so choose whichever you prefer, doesn't matter a whole lot. most important is to get the game and enjoy it
