Mass Effect Question

Hey there

So I might go out and buy Mass Effect today but I have 3 questions:

1. How would it run on my system? Specs in my signature.

2. Would I need a 360 gamepad to play it or is it more suitable for the mouse and keyboard?

3. I've heard that its a game that has enormous replay value and there are loads of different paths and stuff to take in game. Is this true and will it keep me playing for ages?

Ok so I went ahead and bought it, it runs pretty smooth on my PC at 1280x1024, with High effects and textures, runs between 20-50FPS, when I am in heavy(ish, so far anyway) combat parts it will go into the 20's depending on whats happening. I am not very far into it yet, only played for about an hour or two and so far so good.
