First time I've played it was last night, and I'm amazed, it's such a good game, the interactive dialogue options really add something extra to the cut scenes, and for a tenner, its a flipping bargain!

Dare I say it, it's an ideal stocking filler :p

Like bioshock this game was just short of greatness for me, however this came a bit closer towards being perfect.

Problem is, it's just too damn short, yeah you can explore planets but that's just plain dull and repetitive imo. Some of the side quests were brilliant and the main quest was very good, i just can't help but think they lost their touch a little from the KOTOR days. It seemed to have all the elements of the same formula, but not quite as good. The plot twist was uninspiring, the character interaction wasn't quite as deep and as i say, it just ended too quickly.

Still a great game, it's just one of those i felt could have been so much more. Enjoy the ride while it lasts as it's short but oh so very sweet.

Agreed.

Very good game. Far too short, and just lacking that extra something.

I love it personally. I thought the length was good though. I only did about half the side quests, and only explored a few of the planets, but it took me around 30 hours.

I will beplaying it again soon, as I have had no luck finding another RPG I like. Fallout 3 and Last Remnant did nothing for me. Would try Fable 2, but it's sitting under the xmas tree.

There's no excuse not to buy it now for that price, anyone who doesn't play it, is missing out.

+2

Side quests needed more depth and rewards...I didn't feel any kind of satisfaction in doing them, I only did them to try and 'see' everything. Exploring planets on the Mako was just an exercise in frustration.

I *loved* the big decisions - I wont spoil it, but the first major one you make actually made me sit back and think for a minute. And I got it wrong :o

The characters were fantasticly done, especially in voice (Wrex), but I didn't really find myself caring for them or their welfare ... unlike KotOR, where both Bastila and Carth had a lot of depth and background...plus there was HK-47 ;)

I'm looking forward to ME2 ...

On my fourth play through since I got it, haven't played it in about a month though.

+ Action elements (Sprinting, manual grenades, zoom)
+ Great main story
+ Loads of side quests
+ RPG Elements (Love the skill tree system)
- Texture popping (haven't tried since installing to HDD)
- Inventory gets messy with loads of items (needs armour sets + access to all available party members from menu, as opposed to locker)
- Lift & sniper rifles can make the game easy.

Yeah I'd agree with most of your opinion. The main quest is great fun, the dialogue trees are brilliant and I love the depth of the back-story. The problem is the side-quests are repetitive and boring, there's only one type of underground base, one type of abandoned space ship, one type of warehouse etc, etc. Plus exploring the planets is a lot less fun that you'd imagine. Luckily you can completely ignore the majority of it.

If you like RPGs, especially Bioware RPGs, you would be mad not to get this, and I've seen it for a tenner, can't go wrong at that price.

Mass Effect is the first RPG I actually enjoyed playing. Couldnt stop playing this game at all lol

Agreed that the side missions were a bit "meh" though i think i finished most if not all of them just for the hey of it. The Bring Down the Sky side mission (the downloadable content) wasn't bad either. I picked that up for 300ms points a while ago

I know this is old, but the Op's comment on the interactive dialogue options made me think of it :D

can pick this up on preowned shelves no probs (£9.99) - only problem is ive played about half of this on PC so not sure its worth getting on 360

Hopefully Bioware fix the niggles for the sequel. I can't help thinking their RPGs are shorter and less diverse since the move to the Xboxes...
