Massive ATi 5770 Overclock!***

wow thats awsome can you do some benchmarks . does anyone think it will be faster than a 5850@stock

cheers

Im going to reserve judgement but to be honest the overclock doesn't look all that special. I can certainly match it on my reference 5850 (which is 1050/1250) but without the 100% fan. Damn that must wind you up? I think I would rather castrate myself than live with a card running 100% fan speed 100% of the time.

The default core on a 5770 is what, 850mhz? so that a 17.65% clock increase and an effective memory speed of 4800 (1200) so thats a 12.5% memory increase.

I thought that was just the norm, dont get me wrong nice overclock but massive?

I believe 1000 on the core has been common since the 4890 was released. I think all 5 series cards from the 5770 up can mostly reach 1000 core with a voltage bump.

Yea nothing special you could push that memory clock higher it will help with your fps and you defiantly don't need 100% fan.

Thanks guys ! Yeah maybe i exaggerated with the ''massive '' word! lol still a nice overclock though:)

Ive tried pushing memory further with more voltage it worse but it gets too hot like way to hott!

Whats the default clock of a 5770, 850Mhz? 5850 default clock is 725Mhz, mine does 1050 with ease, silently, thats not a big deal either. I'm sure if you were allowed more voltage it could so some pretty silly speeds aswell.

Admitedly I couldn't hit 1000Mhz on the default cooler, well might have been able to, got very hot, default cooler is turd. Prolimatech took slight overvolt and 925Mhz with 80C load down to 45C absolute max, 1050Mhz core, higher voltage, silent fans.

Never actually tried to see how far I could go with default cooler with anything above 45% fan speed, as its basically too loud at that point. I'm sure with 100% fan it could do 1Ghz.

2Ghz is the next barrier IIRC, LN2 cooled gpu's have done above 1.5Ghz now.
