Massive difference in Temps using different Forceware Drivers?

Hi All,

I have updated (well, downgraded really. Started off on the 275' and 270's) my nV forceware drivers and have noticed strange increases in my Gfx card temps when using the Kombustor program within Afterburner.

Here is the 266.58 driver set. Notice the FPS reading (515) and the Temperature (81 degrees) after about 5 minutes.

Now here is the 270.61 sriver set, again, notice the FPS reading (186) and the Temperature (63 degrees). Also after 6 minutes.?

Apart from the Temps and the FPS, everything else appears to be the same, Clocks, Fan etc..

What is going on?

Massive difference in FPS, looks like GPU is working 3 times harder in the first picture.

I have un-installed and re-installed several times with the same results. I have just found some posts saying that certain drivers are 'throttling' the card in certain benchtesting programs, but i cannot see any evidence of that on my tests. The gpu clocks are like-for-like?
