I know Dirt 2 is just round the corner (or has it been delayed till next year now)? But i still have goes on Dirt (1), and keep wondering why i get huge frame rate drop when I smash my windscreen. It goes from a Steady 50-60 FPS on my QX9650, with GTX8800x2 (sli) to something like 16-18 frames when this happens (in cockpit view).
If i change to bonnet view, or external view, i get my "50+ frames back", but back to 16-18 frames when returning to cockpit view with smashed window.
Could be SLI/GFX etc, but tried all sorts of drivers, and happens on XP/Vista/Win 7
