Massive issues installing Win10 1607 Anniversary Edition - Possible bios issue

Wondering if anyone can help, I'm pulling my hair out trying to install Win10 1607 anniversary update, it's been out ages and to be honest I've not been that worried about it failing to update but thought I better look at it properly this week. Believe me when I say this I have tried everything nothing short of doing a fresh install which I really do not want to do for a number of reasons. I'm beginning to wonder if it's possibly an issue with my bios and was planning to update it, the issue I have is that it's using a specific bios for overclocking the i5 6400, please see below links:

My question is, can I revert back to that bios afterwards (assuming the bios update fixes the issue with the 1607 update)? The absolute last thing I want to do is update my bios and then find out I cannot backtrack and I lose my ability to overclock. Plus I guess another question is, has anyone else here who has purchased the above linked package had similar issues?

I have had various issues with big windows updates failing to install. Managed to fix them by doing an in place upgrade.

However it can break things so make sure you have a system backup beforehand in case it goes wrong.

For the bios update I'd like to believe you can downgrade to the older BLCK overclocking bios - however knowing how butthurt intel were about the whole thing I would not be surprised if the newer bios software prevented downgrading.

Thanks for the reply, its typical because I have been struggling with this update for ages and what happens after I reach out for some help it bloody goes and installs :) my main issue with this failing was that it was restoring a previous build so I had no logs to refer to, I couldn't pin point what the issue was, it was literally like the PC went to reboot during the install and then said "nah" and tried to recover to a previous build. All I did different this time was disable "Turn on fast startup", at a complete guess I can only think that feature being enabled meant services/hardware weren't being shut down correctly when it was rebooting during the update .... read that feature can causes all kinds of weird power issues.

So damn happy I don't need to touch the bios. I could have lost my O/C for nothing.
