Massive lag spikes between rounds on CS:S

What causes this, it's very strange. I've got no downloads or anything like that going, but I'm getting big occasional lag spikes, mainly between rounds on CS:S

Spikes are 2000+!

Btw, my ISP is virgin ADSL

I think it's normal, 2000 is the biggest ping that steam will report usually, more than likely that the ping spike will be caused by the server using 100% resources (almost locking up) in changing map, that it's unable to respond to the ping in a timely manner.

Well it was a 40 player server so I guess it was a little stressed out...

I'll trya 20 player server and see if it still does it.

Ok, it's still doing it, but it's definately my computer...

When I alt-tab out of CS:S choke and loss go down to 0.

When I alt-tab back in it goes up.

I'm going to try reformatting.

Ok, I forgot to mention I'm using Wifi

But this seems to be wifi related. My signal is 18Mbps with 3 bars when alt-tabbed out of CS:S

It drops to 1Mbps when in CS:S, with 1 bar out of 5. Could the GFX card be interfering with the WIFI card?

EDIT: Fixed it, my aerial was alongside my GFX card. I've now made it so it is horizontal and it is fine now, no choke or loss. I'm off to shoot some terrorists.
