hi all.

opera just updated itself to;

Version
10.52
Build
3370
Platform
Win32
System
Windows XP SP3

And it's currently sat using 186mb and 100% CPU usesage on googles home page. Anyone else had any trouble with it under XP? It seems fine on my win7 x64 system

There have been all sorts of issues with Opera 10.5x. I rolled back to v10.10 some time ago and won't be upgrading anytime soon.

You might want to post any bug reports over here.

10.52 is the only one I can get to work (the latest one) though I do see what you're saying. CPU usage has shot right up even though the same no. of tabs are open. Memory has jumped upwards as well.

At least this time pages load ok, so there hasn't been enough for me to roll back to 10.10 again.

Had 10.51 happily munching up 1.6gb of ram a few days ago, restart seemed to calm it down, only using 600mb now :)

Mine doesn't seem to be using any more memory than it 10.51 was.

Currently on 75mb with google homepage loaded and on Windows XP 32-bit

I can't get on with anything from 10.50 onwards. I use speed dial a lot (117 of them all used). You're supposed to be able to right click on a tab to drag it to a speed dial number but this doesn't work in my case. Also the fonts have changed on websites such as this one; i'm sure this can be corrected though. I'm back on 10.10 and happier but Opera still starts up a lot more slowly than i remember earlier versions used to on my XP pc.

Off topic - is anybody have problems with 10.53 at all? Memory usage has shot up to 1.5GB compared to 1.1GB at a stretch when I used to use 10.10.

I also get random crashes. The browser window itself sometimes gets 'stuck' in the task bar as well. When maximising, the pages don't enlarge but just a large black rectangle.

nope. my version of 10.53 is absolutely fine, but then again, i didn't have any noticeable problems with any of the other 10.5x versions.
