Massive PC problems

Hi all,

Sorry about the massive post but my latest build it an absolute nightmare :mad: I posted a few weeks ago but thought it best to start a new thread as it will be easier to explain what the problems are and what I have done.

The first problem I have is that my PC randomly loses power, either under load or idle. When it loses power it often reboots by itself within 30 seconds. When this happens the PC generally will work for less time, before losing power again. This cycle is repeated several times until it doesn't turn on altogether.

I have tried many things in order to try and work out the problem. I have;
-Completely rebuilt the system several times.
-Tried the system with only 1 stick of RAM (tried both sticks) & without the GFX and sound card.
-Re-seated the CPU
-Ran stress tests on the CPU and memory (both passed)
-Loaded temperature software (30c idle, 45c load on an i5 2500k)
-Bought a PSU tester.

Initially I thought it was the PSU as I could not get it to work with the tester (antec digital) and requested an RMA. However, before I sent it I tested it only last time and it worked for many hours so I assume that I did something wrong initally.

The second problem seems to be with the GFX. I have loaded CS source and when i play there are horizontal, shimmering lines across the screen. I have tested the monitor with my laptop and there are no such lines. The only thing different is the adaptor to fit the GFX card. This issue only manifests itself on CSS & TF2.

What is the likely hood that the issue is with the adaptor or is there something I have done wrong?

Can anyone tell me why my PC seems to lose power?

My system is as follows;

intel i5 2500k
asus p8z68-v
8gig gskill 1600mzh ram
msi 570gtx @ 770mhz
