Zalman CNPS9500A-LED CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/LGA775)

HS-015-ZA_400.jpg

Zalman have announced the release of their new CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower Cooler. Zalman claim it outperforms all other air-cooled CPU coolers as well as internal water-cooling systems, while maintaining Zalman’s renowned ultra quiet fan operation. This is a bold statement by Zalman. The primary innovation lies in the patented ‘figure of 8’ shape bending of the heatpipes. This produces the effect of up to six heatpipes when in actual fact there are only three. The excellent cooling performance and efficiency of the CNPS9500-LED is achieved by the aerodynamically designed ultra-slim heatsink fins and their performance optimised layout. This layout reduces airflow resistance and minimises the weigh of the cooler.

Zalman CNPS8700-NT CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

HS-034-ZA_400.jpg

The Zalman CNPS8700-NT is an all copper heatpipe CPU cooler with a top-down cooling design to assist in motherboard component cooling in addition to the CPU. The high performance tunnel design directs the airflow down and through the cooler. This method adds cooling to your motherboard's RAM, Northbridge, FET, and voltage regulators. The heatpipes act as four independent heat pipes traveling around the base of the the heatsink fins disspiating heat evenly and effectively. The CNPS8700 NT is a low profile cooler ideal for use in Slim Towers and Home Theater Cases. The NT version has a nickel-plated silver finish and is supplied with a 4-pin PWM fan. The fan speed for this cooler is controlled by the PWM function built into the motherboard’s BIOS. The fan speed will automatically increase and decrease depending on the temperature of the processor.

- Socket Type: AMD 754 / 939 / 940 / AM2 / Intel LGA775

Awesome stuff! Which is the quieter cooler of the two?

Based on the reviews the 9500 is a pig to install...is this the case?

I have two CNPS9500, install was very easy.. one went on a 755 system and the other on am2. those are really nice prices for these coolers

Good to know, cheers mate...how are they in terms of noise?

These weren't even in the picture for me, but definately considering them now for next month's build.

Those prices are really good.

I have the 9500's bigger brother, the 9700NT, and it is really good for my 6000+ X2, I was even using it for a while with my first i7 920 with that bracket above, and it kept my chip cool enough when it was clocked to 3.8GHz, although when the fan kicked in when there was a load on the processor it sounded like a jet engine!!!

::edit::

If the 9500 uses the same mounting bracket as the 9700 then it shouldn't be any problems to install at all, I found it fairly straight forward, and definitely not "a pig to install".

The first cooler is kinda decent ran my Q6600 at 3.4GHz at pretty at resonable temps bargain at that price.

Zalman CNPS9500A-LED CPU Cooler

does it fit am3 boards ?

AM3 boards use the same socket surround as AM2/+ right?

If so then these will work on there no problem at all.

Like I said, I had the slightly larger 9700NT, and it was amazing for cooling my old Athlon 6000+X2, and I even used it when I first got my i7 system with that mounting bracket above, and it was good to go all the way up to 3.8GHz, and these i7's run hot as you probably already know.

The only bad thing I will say about these coolers are that they are extremely noisy, Zalman are supposed to be known for quiet fans, but when the 9700 kicked in when there was a load on the processor it sounded as though your case was going to take off, although when the fan was running at the lower speeds it was fairly quiet.. I am not sure, but these ones might come with a Zalman fanmate which will allow you to control the speed of the fan manually, don't quote me on that though as I am not 100% sure, I am just taking a guess!

The 9700NT has a PWM fan fitted, this one doesn't so it is going to run at full pelt all the time, so I would imagine with it having a smaller fan it is going to sound even louder than the 9700.

But at these prices you really can't go wrong guys.. nice coolers, and especially for £12.99.

Very good price.

Ordered one, I hope this can run on min fan speed. As My cheap akasa is he noisiest thing in my system. Wasting the quietness of my noctua fans :(.
