Zalman CNPS9500A-LED CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/LGA775)

HS-015-ZA_400.jpg

Zalman have announced the release of their new CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower Cooler. Zalman claim it outperforms all other air-cooled CPU coolers as well as internal water-cooling systems, while maintaining Zalman’s renowned ultra quiet fan operation. This is a bold statement by Zalman. The primary innovation lies in the patented ‘figure of 8’ shape bending of the heatpipes. This produces the effect of up to six heatpipes when in actual fact there are only three. The excellent cooling performance and efficiency of the CNPS9500-LED is achieved by the aerodynamically designed ultra-slim heatsink fins and their performance optimised layout. This layout reduces airflow resistance and minimises the weigh of the cooler.

Zalman CNPS8700-NT CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

HS-034-ZA_400.jpg

The Zalman CNPS8700-NT is an all copper heatpipe CPU cooler with a top-down cooling design to assist in motherboard component cooling in addition to the CPU. The high performance tunnel design directs the airflow down and through the cooler. This method adds cooling to your motherboard's RAM, Northbridge, FET, and voltage regulators. The heatpipes act as four independent heat pipes traveling around the base of the the heatsink fins disspiating heat evenly and effectively. The CNPS8700 NT is a low profile cooler ideal for use in Slim Towers and Home Theater Cases. The NT version has a nickel-plated silver finish and is supplied with a 4-pin PWM fan. The fan speed for this cooler is controlled by the PWM function built into the motherboard’s BIOS. The fan speed will automatically increase and decrease depending on the temperature of the processor.

- Socket Type: AMD 754 / 939 / 940 / AM2 / Intel LGA775
- Dimensions: 120mm x 123mm x 67mm
- Fan Connector: 4-Pin PWM
- Fan Speed: 1150 - 2100 RPM

Trying to find some reviews right now to see what sort of temps these get.
Seems to be a good price. :D

They are much better coolers than the stock coolers, but not considered top end air cooling anymore. They will provide for moderate overclocks or alternatively cooler and queter than the stock coolers at stock speeds.

I currently have an arctic cooling freezer 7 pro, so was thinking about getting one of these with some good TIM, could someone please recommend the best value for money TIM please.
My ACF7 Pro happily allows me to overclock my e8200 (stock 2.66GHz) to 3.4 GHz.

I still rate arctic silver 5, as it does provide some of the best temps, but it has it's downsides (200 hours to cure, so it's initial temps may be ~5C higher than it's eventual temps, also it is capacitative, so you don't want to be accidentally dropping some on any components).

MX-2 and OC freeze will give better temps initially, and they will be within 2C of the AS5 when it finally cures. Your ACF7 Pro came with MX-2 pre-applied.

I've got a tube of shinetsu X23-7783D at home I keep meaning to try.

Trying to get rid of the stock for i5 coolers?

I think it's more of a case of the original RRPs being steep for the relative cooling performance so they probably weren't selling very well. Zalman products have always been on the pricey side. As a comparison, I don't think the CNPS9500A-LED performs much better (if at all better) than the AC F7PRO (which is £17.99 inc VAT), and for the original RRP of £36.98 inc VAT, you can pick up a Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir (£33.99).

Those are real bargains, top two i seen priced around £45 & £60 elsehwere.

Both have good reviews, as i was checking them out when looking to build a rig.
