Masterchef taste/palate test

Just watched tonight's episode and John Terode prepared a beautiful looking dish.

He made a Moroccan marinated lamb dish that was then griddled and placed in the oven. Alongside this he made a spicey aubergine dish called Imam Bayaldi with herbed flatbreads.

The dish looked absolutely stunning and there was no mistaking it was lamb. Even on the telly!

Somehow 4 out of the 6 contestants managed to identify it incorrectly. 1 thought it was beef, 2 thought it was pork and another thought it was duck!

Unbelievable...

Yeah I caught that. It's a bit mind boggling.

Although before people ask it's repeat episodes on good food channel.

I saw on Hell's Kitchen USA (sorry) not too long ago:

Ramsay got the contestants to cook a fairly complex main course dish, before he got them to describe it, he took one mouthful and managed to identify all the ingredients. Amazing.
